Apartment fire causes Macon woman's death

Assistant Bibb Co. Coroner Lonnie Miley says 43-year-old Barbara Hill died from smoke in her apartment after a fire on Napier Avenue early this morning.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - One Macon woman is dead after officials say she possibly left her stove on, causing a fire in her apartment.

Assistant Bibb Co. Coroner Lonnie Miley says 43-year-old Barbara Hill is thought to have died from smoke inhalation after the fire at her apartment at 4017 Napier Avenue in Macon.

She was taken to Coliseum Northside Hospital in Macon, where she eventually passed away.

An autopsy will be done to confirm the cause of death.

Miley says she was found at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
