DOUGLAS, Ga. (AP) — Georgia's fire commissioner says four fires south Georgia have all been ruled arson and authorities suspect they are all connected.
Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner Ralph Hudgens on Wednesday asked for the public's help in identifying whoever's responsible for the Tuesday fires in Douglas.
The first two fires were ignited early Tuesday between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. and heavily damaged two homes. More fires were started between 1:50 a.m. and 2 a.m. in a motel trash bin and at a business.
Hudgens said investigators believe all four fires are linked. He said information leading to an arrest and conviction in the fires could make the tipster eligible for a reward of up to $10,000.
