ATLANTA - Football fans in the state of Georgia will have their pick of important games this week.
Over the space of four days beginning Thursday, No. 20 Georgia Tech hosts 10th-ranked Virginia Tech, No. 14 Georgia entertains 24th-ranked Auburn, and the streaking Atlanta Falcons welcome New Orleans for an NFC South showdown.
All three games have huge implications. Georgia Tech and Georgia are trying to move a step closer to earning trips to the championship games in their respective conferences. The Falcons, who have won three in a row, will be looking to take over first place from the Saints.
The two college teams are enjoying comeback seasons, after both slumped to losing records a year ago. The Falcons have bounced back from a 2-3 start to the NFL season.
