CORDELE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- Speedfest 2012, held January 29th at Watermelon Capital Speedway, turned out to be a huge success with great racing in front of a standing-room-only crowd.
It also gave race fans a rare opportunity to get up close with both established NASCAR stars like Kyle Busch, David Ragan and Johnny Sauter as well as future stars like Chase Elliott, Ross Kensenth and Bubba Pollard.
41 NBC's coverage of the race can be found here: SpeedFest 2012
While covering the race festivities, we had an opportunity to talk to drivers Chase Elliott and David Ragan about their upcoming racing season. After a successful rookie season, Elliott will be shooting for the championship in NASCAR's K&N Series East. Elliott drives for his father, NASCAR legend Bill Elliott.
NASCAR Cup star David Ragan took the time to talk to us about his new Cup ride with Front Row Motorsports as well as his own late model team he runs as a hobby.
