ATHENS, GA - Anne Marie Armstrong scored a career-high 22 points and Khaalidah Miller added 17 to help No. 13 Georgia beat TCU 83-60 in the season opener for both schools Friday night.
Antoinette Thompson led TCU with 23 points. Natalie Ventress added 16 and Chelsea Prince had 12 rebounds for the Horned Frogs.
TCU pulled within six early in the second half on Ventress' three-point play, but the Lady Bulldogs, whose biggest first-half lead was 19 in the closing seconds, went up 53-41 with 16:18 remaining on Armstrong's straightaway 3-pointer.
Jasmine James had a career-high eight steals and scored 14 points for Georgia, which improved to 5-1 against TCU and 28-5 in openers under coach Andy Landers.
The Horned Frogs dropped to 11-2 under coach Jeff Mittie in openers.
Meredith Mitchell finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds for Georgia. TCU never led.
