DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (MERCER RELEASE) – Mercer women's golf senior Lacey Fears continues to lead the field as Day Two of the LPGA Xavier Invitational came to a close on Sunday afternoon at the LPGA International Golf Course.
Mercer shot 296 as a team to move into a tie with Daytona State for second-place in the event, just five shots behind tournament leader Morehead State.
As for Fears, the Bonaire, Ga. native shot a two-under 70 in her round to remain one shot ahead of Samford's Bailey Gray as the top individual at the event.
Freshman Katy Harris carded a 75 in round two to put herself in a tie for 17th overall in the event with a two-day total of 152.
Mercer will begin play in the third and final round of the event on Monday at 8:30 a.m. as part of a shotgun start.
