Scouting the Opposition
Northern Kentucky is 4-4-1 thus far in 2013, its second full season in Division I. The Bears beat the Norse 1-0 in the first-ever meeting between the two schools last season, using a goal by then senior Danielle Hesse in the fourth minute of play. NKU has struggled away from home this season as it carries a 1-4 road record into play this weekend. Senior Allison Ponzer paces the Norse offense this season with six points on three goals.
Lipscomb has enjoyed a renaissance 2013 season to date, coming into play this weekend with a 3-4-2 record. The Bisons have already totaled more goals, assists and points than any other previous Lipscomb squad in a single-season in program history. Lipscomb features an explosive offense and a very young squad that starts six freshmen. The Bisons currently rank second in the A-Sun Conference with 21 goals scored this season. Freshman Ellen Lundy has carried most of the load on offense as she ranks 12th in the nation with 20 points on nine goals and two assists.
