WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Southeast Region Little League tournaments in Warner Robins.
The region headquarters announced volunteers are needed to serve as stadium ushers, work in the gift shop, concession stand, press box, parking areas, serve on the grounds crew, and help with the 50/50 raffle.
A meeting for interested people is scheduled for July 9 at 6:30 at Southeastern Region Headquarters, located at 439 Snellgrove Drive.
At the meeting, those interested in assisting will complete a volunteer application and provide a copy of a government-issued ID. These two items are required to be on file to volunteer during the tournaments. Each person must also consent to a standard criminal background check.
Attendance at the volunteer meeting is not required for a person to assist during one or both of the tournaments.
You can also print a volunteer application at www.LittleLeague.org/South and bring it with you to the meeting or send it to the region office. If you can't make the meeting, you should also send a copy of your ID.
The annual region tournament will feature one team from the eight states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia) that make up the Southeastern Region. The winner of each tournament will advance to its respective World Series. The softball champion moves onto Portland, Oregon, while the baseball winner advances to play in the Little League Baseball World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
