DORAL, FL - Tiger Woods is playing only his fourth tournament of the year this weekend at the Cadillac Championship at Doral Resort near Miami. For at least the first two rounds, he will be paired with professional golf's other superstar, Phil Mickelson.
Woods is coming up on 16 months without winning, the longest drought of his career. He is trying to revamp his swing, and has yet to crack the top 20 in tournaments where he typically wins or at least plays well.
One reason Woods is playing less tournaments is he is trying to spend time with his two children.
When asked Wednesday why he's not playing more tournaments, Woods said he has a family. In a terse response, he said that he was divorced, and only those who are divorced with young children could understand.
Woods is a three-time winner at Doral, where the Cadillac Championship starts Thursday.
You can watch play from the Cadillac Championship in Doral, FL on 41 NBC this weekend 2-6 PM on Saturday and Sunday from 3-7 PM.
