ATLANTA - Shuler Hensley, a Tony award winner for his role as Jud Fry in "Oklahoma!" has been cast in the Alliance Theatre's production next spring of "Ghost Brothers of Darkland County," a new musical by novelist Stephen King and rocker John Mellencamp.
Hensley won the Tony in 2002. His most recent Broadway role was in "Young Frankenstein." The cast, announced Wednesday, also includes Emily Skinner, a Tony nominee for "Billy Elliot" and Justin Guarini, an American Idol runner-up who performed on Broadway in "American Idiot."
The musical, set to open on April 4, is described by King as about "ghosts in a cabin and how sibling rivalries are carried down from generation to generation." Musical direction is by T Bone Burnett.
The cast will hold a 10-day developmental workshop next month.
