CUMMING, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a Forsyth County man has died after he was struck by a van while walking on a highway north of Atlanta.
Sources report that the collision happened around 7:30 a.m. Saturday on Highway 20 near the Forsyth-Cherokee county line.
Forsyth County sheriff's officials say 61-year-old Johnie Baker stepped into the path of a Ford E-250 van. Sheriff's spokesman Doug Rainwater said Baker was trying to cross the road.
Authorities say the driver of the van stopped to give aid, but Baker was pronounced dead at the scene.
