COVINGTON, Ga. (AP) - U.S. Marshals say the third suspect in a robbery and shooting at a store in Fayetteville has been found dead of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. Regional fugitive task force supervisor Jim Joyner told the sources that 27-year-old Leandro Johnson of Ellenwood was found at an apartment complex in Covington Tuesday by authorities who were serving a warrant.
Investigators have said masked men entered the back door of the China Cafe in Fayette County after closing Oct. 11 and held three employees at gunpoint. The robbery led to a shootout and an employee wounded one suspect in his head. The man later died and his body was dumped in an abandoned home. A 26-year-old Jonesboro man police say served as a getaway driver was arrested.
