DULUTH, Georgia (AP) - Federal authorities are teaming up with a Hispanic construction organization in Georgia to hold a construction safety and health fair for construction workers and their families.
The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration said in a statement that it is working with the Georgia Hispanic Construction Association to sponsor the event on Sunday at the Santa Fe Mall in Duluth.
OSHA staff plans to hand out Spanish-language publications and to answer questions about on-the-job safety and health issues.
There will also be some free construction-related workshops, classes and discussions. Topics are to include: residential construction, ladder usage, landscaping, heat illnesses, personal protective equipment and the hazards of dealing with lead and asbestos.
Exhibitors and vendors will be on hand to conduct safety demonstrations involving tools and equipment.
