ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police are investigating the killing of a woman who was shot during an apparent home invasion in east Atlanta.
Homicide investigators tell WSB-TV that they believe the woman's home on Van Vleck Avenue was targeted for robbery late Tuesday night. The name of the woman, who was in her 30s, was not immediately released.
Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci, the department's Homicide Unit Commander, tells WXIA-TV that a man also in the home at the time was slightly injured but did not required hospitalization.
Atlanta police Capt. Tim Peek tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the woman was visiting the homeowner, who is now working with investigators to identify the shooter.
No arrests had been made early Wednesday.
