AUGUSTA, Georgia (AP) - International Flavors and Fragrances Inc. has announced its manufacturing plant in Augusta will close by July 2014.
Company officials Friday announced the plant is being consolidated into the company's other facilities. The company producers flavoring and fragrance products.
Sources report the company open a plant in the city in 1995.
Officials say the closure is an effort to ensure the company's operations are cost-efficient and competitive.
The New York-based company employs more than 5,700 people in 32 countries.
