ATLANTA (AP) - A man has been sentenced to death in the fatal stabbing of two metro Atlanta teens in 2007.
An 11-count indictment charged 35-year-old Jeremy Moody with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping and rape. Moody pleaded guilty to the charges in early April.
Jones says Moody confronted the teens on their way back from a neighborhood store in College Park, south of Atlanta. Authorities have said Jones raped the girl and stabbed both victims dozens of times in their heads, torsos and chests with a screwdriver. Authorities found the victims in a wooded area behind an elementary school in College Park.
Jones says Moody confessed the next day and was arrested at a Greyhound bus station.
