KINGSTON, Georgia (AP) - Authorities in northwest Georgia were trying to identity a body found in a river.
Bartow County sheriff's officials say the body was found Thursday night in the Etowah River.
Bartow County sheriff's Sgt. Jonathan Rogers says that someone fishing off Jones Slough Road near the small community of Kingston spotted the body and called 911.
Rogers tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that authorities planned to take the body to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab for identification. Few other details were available early Friday morning.
