ATHENS, Georgia (AP) - The University of Georgia plans a special reception later this month honoring outgoing President Michael Adams.
The reception will be held April 24 starting at 4 p.m. in the Tate Student Center Grand Hall. University officials say the event is open to the public and will include remarks from student, faculty and staff members.
Adams is set to retire June 30 after 16 years as president. When he announced his retirement, Adams said he planned to join the faculty and teach.
Longtime administrator Jere Morehead has been named as UGA's next president. Morehead previously served as provost and vice president for academic affairs.
