SAVANNAH, Georgia (AP) - Thirty-five new police cadets are set to graduate from training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police spokesman Julian Miller says the class includes 22 recruits for the metro department and recruits for nine law enforcement agencies are set to graduate Friday.
Miller says the graduation follows 11 weeks of training and graduates will be certified as sworn officers in Georgia. Some of the new cadets will continue training in their respective departments.
The graduation is being held in the Fine Arts Auditorium at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, and begins at 2 p.m.
