No Problems Expected on Friday After Airport Fire

ATLANTA (AP) - Officials at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport say they don't expect problems for passengers on Friday after an electrical fire temporarily shut down an airport train and moving walkway.

Airport spokeswoman Myrna White says the fire began around 7:30 p.m. Thursday between the C and D concourses and was extinguished about five minutes later.

White says travelers were diverted from the area. Passenger traffic was retained to boarding areas and passengers were not allowed to deplane on Concourse C until 8:15 p.m. and in Concourse D until 8:30 p.m.

No Injuries were reported and the airport's train service resumed just after 8:30 p.m.

Authorities said they were trying to pinpoint what caused the fire.
