Fulton County Disputes Voter Record Tampering Claims

ATLANTA (AP) - The interim director of the Fulton County elections board has denied allegations that her staff tampered with voter records after the presidential race in November. State investigators last week said a red pen was used to add the names to voter rolls in reverse alphabetical order after poll managers signed off on the documents and delivered them to the county elections office.

Interim director Sharon Mitchell issued a statement saying the voter rolls were working documents that were filled out incorrectly at the polling places and that staffers were correcting the mistakes. In a rebuttal Monday, Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp said the elections board has not provided any documentation supporting claims that the voter rolls were filled out incorrectly.
