MONROE, Ga. (AP) - Members of the Monroe Fire Department say a fire that destroyed a Monroe fast food restaurant early Sunday was apparently started accidentally.

Monroe Fire Department spokesman Bill Owens said firefighters responding to the 1:20 a.m. blaze at the Captain D's on Spring Street in Monroe could see smoke and flames from a half-mile away,

Investigators had determined that the cause was an electrical fire in the office area of the restaurant. He said the flames spread to the attic and roof.
