Savannah Man Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize

SAVANNAH, Georgia (AP) - The Georgia Lottery says a Savannah man has claimed a $1 million prize in the latest Powerball drawing.

Lottery officials say 69-year-old Lars Ljungdahl won the second-place cash prize in Wednesday night's drawing by matching the first five winning numbers.

The winner, a retired manufacturing manager, says he was "pretty happy" when he checked the numbers online Thursday morning and saw that he'd won. He says he will most likely invest his winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at Village Station, a store located on Skidaway Island.

Lottery officials say the Powerball jackpot has climbed to $310 million for the next drawing Saturday.
