FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say two men have been charged in six killings, including a toddler and unborn baby, near the Tennessee-Alabama border last fall during a dispute over drug dealing.

Lincoln County Sheriff Murray Blackwelder announced on Thursday that 36-year-old Henry Burrell, of Fayetteville, Tenn., and 35-year-old Zakkawanda Moss, of New Market, Ala., are charged with six counts each of first-degree murder. The two men are jailed in Alabama on unrelated charges.

Officials say three women, a man, toddler and unborn baby were slain last October.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Burrell and Moss were drug dealers who worked with one of the victims, Warren Crutcher. Officials believe the pair decided Crutcher was ripping them off, and the killings occurred while Burrell and Moss were looking for drugs and money.

Obama Lifts Ban On Guantanamo Transfers To Yemen

Written by Associated Press (95) on . Posted in Across The Nation

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama is lifting his self-imposed ban on transferring Guantanamo Bay detainees to Yemen in his renewed effort to close the prison.

Obama suspend transfers there in January 2010 after a would-be bomber attempted to blow up a U.S.-bound flight on instructions from al-Qaida operatives in Yemen.

The change in policy comes since a new president has taken over and improved security in the Arab nation. But al-Qaida is still active in Yemen, and there have been instances of former detainees returning to jihad there.

Lifting the ban is a step toward Obama's goal of closing the Navy-run prison in Cuba, since nearly 100 of the 166 detainees are from Yemen.

Obama announced he was lifting the ban in a speech Thursday at National Defense University.

Ohio Kidnap Case Hero Gets Free McDonald's Food

Written by Associated Press (95) on . Posted in Across The Nation

CLEVELAND (AP) - The man who famously put down his Big Mac to help rescue three women held captive in a Cleveland house is getting complimentary McDonald's for the next year.

A spokeswoman for Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald's Corp. said Thursday that local franchisees in Charles Ramsey's neighborhood have offered him free food at their restaurants.

Ramsey had noted in a TV interview that he was eating McDonald's when he heard one woman screaming for help. He also mentioned it in a 911 call.

McDonald's had tweeted it would be in touch with Ramsey.

He was called a hero after helping the women break out of the house May 6.

McDonald's says it's made a $10,000 donation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the names of the women and Ramsey.
