NEW YORK (AP) - The trial of a New York City police officer accused of conspiring to kill and eat women has taken a grisly turn as an FBI agent testified about the writings of men who say they are hungry for human flesh. Agent Corey Walsh on Tuesday described the gory Internet communications between Officer Gilberto Valle (VAL'-ee) and others he met on a website dedicated to unusual sexual fetishes. Walsh says Valle wrote to others about wanting to roast the body of a Maryland woman - a former college classmate - over an open fire. The woman testified earlier in the day that she never felt threatened by Valle. Prosecutors say Valle's Internet plans were real. Defense lawyers say they were merely Internet fantasies shared with like-minded individuals.
