MACON,Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A Macon woman is thankful to have her property back after someone stole it from her daughter's grave. According to Macon Police, a number of items were stolen from various graves at Riverside Cemetery. Police say the woman found out about the theft after taking a shortcut through a neighborhood where she noticed several items she had
purchased for her loved one's grave-site.
The items were displayed in the front yard of a home. Manager of Riverside Cemetery Susan Gordan says several items were recovered by police at an apartment complex less than 2 miles from the cemetery. Gordan says items like a bird bath and a bench are usually not the first things thieves go after.
"Most of the time it is just flower pots...they will see a new arrangement that is really nice, and they will either move it to another lot or take it home with them," said Gordan.
