For all veterans interested in finding employment, there's a job fair going on today. Head to American Legion Post 594 located at 1523 Moody Road in Warner Robins. The career fair starts at 10am and ends at 2pm. It's open to civilan jobseekers as well as veterans.
Many local leaders of Macon and Bibb County have pushed the importance of the penny tax for months and Tuesday night it paid off. Even SPLOST supporters were surprised by a whopping 73% in favor of the tax and just 27% voted against it.
A spirit of unity filled the Macon-Bibb Wins Headquarters at 486 Poplar St. The SPLOST found wide spread popularity from voters across Macon and Bibb County.
A local business owner and a team of volunteers are helping revitalize one of Middle Georgia's favorite museums. The landscaping at the museum is being redesigned. Old plants are being up-rooted and new plants are being put in. Janel Bailey, president and founder of Xenos Hospitality, and several other volunteers are helping with the project.
Bailey says cultural arts attractions like the Tubman Museum are crucial in bringing outside money to Bibb County . " It's important when people come into our city that we welcome them with nice landscaping and they have a good first impression. That's what we are hoping to do here ".

Budget cuts could affect those who get help from the government this winter. The energy assistance program provided help for 5 thousand households last year. Jimmy samuel, Executive Director for the macon-bibb economic opportunity council, says several programs that help people in need have been cut.
"The funds have been cut like everything else in the economy. So we are not sure what that cut is going to be but possibly as much as fifty percent from last year " said, Jimmy Samuel .
You must be 65 years of age or older for the program. Applicants must provide a copy of your most recent energy bill, proof of household income, picture i-d, and a valid social security card. Starting at 7am Tuesday, the Department of Human services will be helping the first 150 people at saint Paul A-M-E Church on Shurling Drive. The heating energy assistance program will open for the general public starting in December.

"There's a lot of dark humor in aviation. One is if you can walk away from a landing it was a good landing," said flight instructor, Ken Sharp.
After more than 50 years of flying, Ken Sharp continues to walk away from safe landings. Sharp first learned about aviation in the 1960's while serving in the Air Force. He now uses his skills at the Milledgeville Aviation as a flight instructor.
