Today, more people use smartphones than ever before--and as they head to the store to shop for Christmas, these gadgets come in pretty handy.
"They use it to save money, they use it to become more knowledgeable, and it really helps especially when we have parents shopping for kids," says Kira Henderson, Riverside Drive's AT&T store manager.
There are tons of money saving apps you can use to compare prices. whether you're searching for the hottest toy or the coolest gadget, these apps do the work for you.
"There are so many different apps you can download that will send you coupons straight to your phone that you can actually take to the checkout with you, and they can scan it for you," says Henderson.
Apps like Shopkick, Google Shopper, Groupon, and Shopsavvy---just to name a few, all serve to help you keep your family and your wallet happy.
Henderson even shared her favorite shopping app.
"Shopsavvy is really cool, it's kind of like a barcode scanner, and you can use it to scan one item at a particular store and it'll pull up and show you at other stores how much it is, and you can comparison shop that way."
There is also a way to save digital copies of all your receipts. Withan app called Lemon, you can scan each receipt, without having to log it in a checkbook.
Who would have guessed the power of the almighty Christmas buck would literally be in the hands of shoppers! The best part is, these apps are free and help you save year round.
Some of Andrew's favorite free apps are:
Shopsavvy, Google Shopper, Gasbuddy, Cardstar, Living Social, Shopkick.
