Warner Robins City Councilman John Williams is in good spirits today after being hospitalized at Macon Coliseum. Williams tells 41 NBC, his heart stopped twice yesterday morning, and his defibrillator activated both times.
He had the device put in this summer after a heart attack. He went to Houston Medical Center and was later sent to Macon Coliseum.
Williams says he was pushing a button on his car radio when he felt the machine kick in, "like taking a spark plug in a car and grabbing it, or worse. It's like I couldn't see anything, knocked me unconscious really. This arm drew up and sprained this wrist when this hand jerked back so far it actually sprained the tendons in the wrist right there."
He says the doctors were planning to do surgery, but he was able to talk them out of it. We wish him a safe and speedy recovery.
