It was a tough Christmas for the family of a missing Twiggs County man. 47-year-old Troy Burnett was last seen a week ago on December 19th. After a search by the Twiggs County Sheriff's department found no trace Burnett, the family and authorities turn to the public for help.
"Well we haven't had a Christmas," said Ida McClinton, Troy Burnett's mother.
Burnett was last seen in Twiggs County by a neighbor on Highway 80. Twiggs County Sheriff's Deputies and family members continue to search for Burnett near his home on Galamore Mill Road. The family says Burnett takes walks almost everyday.
"He would walk from his house to the corner which was to the church. Then he would ride his bicycle from his house over to a friend's (house) over on I think Floyd Road, but he never wondered off like this," said McClinton.
Burnett's has limited eyesight and hearing and the 47-year-old takes medicine daily for seizures. Burnett's mom first realized he was missing while bringing him medicine last Monday.
"I went on to work but I left the food and the medicine in the refrigerator and when I came back he wasn't there," said McClinton.
Dora McClinton is Burnett's aunt and says he can become delusional and lose track of where he is without medicine, but says he's not aggressive or dangerous to the public.
"He's harmless, please, please if anybody knows anything we would appreciate it if you would come forward and say something," said Dora McClinton.
Ida McClinton worries that someone in a car picked up Burnett after he got lost.
"The last person that seen him, they said they saw him running down 80 and we have searched that place also so I guess we going down by Dublin because they said he was going down the road," said McClinton.
