Hundreds of people took part in a Citizens for Better Government rally at the Houston Mall Tuesday. Their goal--to address the impact Warner Robins city council's discord is having on their community.
Former city leaders, pastors and business owners addressed the crowd of about 250 people.
They said public disagreements between city council and the mayor have embarrassed the city and threatened the future of Robins Air Force Base.
Former mayor pro tem, John Havrilla, condemned council's recent firing of city attorney, Jim Elliott, saying it "pushed him over the edge."
"This community should not be a laughing stock," he said. "This community should have the best city government in the entire state of Georgia."
This is the second nonpartisan rally held by Citizens for Better Government in a week.
