Tonight, Macon kids enjoyed the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Rooms for the Heart, an organization that gives critically ill children their dream bedrooms, rolled out a red carpet at the Amstar theater in Macon, for a big movie premiere.
"Amstar's just gone above and beyond overboard. They called us and said ask as many children as you want, you know, smurf age or whatever, and get em here and we'll give them the red carpet treatment," says Ann Mosley, founder of Rooms for the Heart.
Children who attended the event walked off with goody bags filled with 'Smurf' essentials.
"I know that Joshua and all of these kids are very excited so I'm grateful for all of these cancer society organizations who take the time to really love these kids," says mom, Keisha Prothro.
The Amstar team even helped decorate a bedroom with Rooms for the Heart in anticipation for the big event.
"They have such a hard time, but seeing them able to come out and see the Smurf, and be able to laugh and giggle, and enjoy it, it's very rewarding," says general manager, Wesley Clark.
