We begin our third annual Middle Georgia Pride series, where we highlight what's best about our communities.
This week, we're taking you to Dublin, and sharing with you the story of two sisters who love their hometown so much, that after college they returned to start their own business.
Ashley and Alisia are better known as the Bella sisters in Dublin. They're always together, always having fun, and run Bella's flower shop downtown.
After graduating college the sisters knew coming back home to Dublin just made sense. Bella's Flowers saw humble beginnings, the sisters started out arranging flowers in a small house. But after a short time, they found some success and were able to move downtown, a special place in the hearts of the Goff sisters. "Downtown is the heart of any community. And you go in and it's kind of sad to see dilapidated downtowns.
Old is the new, new. You because you go in and you see the exposed brick and buildings kind of being restored back to their old glory. It's really really cool." When I asked the hometown business owners what Dublin is most well known for, the immediate answer had an Irish tune to it, but at the depth of Dublin stands community support. "It's just a great community, we've got great support we've got great leaders. I really think our town is moving in a really neat direction and I like the idea of everyone kind of embracing downtown."
