The street shut down when Macon Police found a female's body at an apartment complex at
"Have they seen her or have they heard anything unusual the last couple of days? Are there any strangers in the neighborhood or cars that just don't belong? Well we've got a couple of people that we're interviewing and we're going to see how that turns out," said Macon Police Chief Mike Burns.
Police searched Giddings apartment for clues, but have not identified the body.
"They've not made a positive identification so we're treating this as dual investigations. There's a female that's missing and there's a body that's not been identified yet," said Macon Police Spokeswoman, Jami Gaudet.
Macon Police, along with help from Macon-Bibb EMA, and Middle Georgia React searched 5 square blocks for hints of what happened to Lauren Giddings and to figure out if foul play was involved with the found body. The crime units focused on two rooms in the apartment complex.
"One of them is her apartment that we're going through the other one is a vacant apartment downstairs that we're also processing," said Chief Burns.
