A new Georgia license plate will soon be cruising the streets, but not until a winner is selected.
There are 8 designs in this year's license plate contest and one of the semi-finalists is right here in middle Georgia.
Linda Sosebee is responsible for two of the tag creations.
"As I was just driving down the road, I would look at other tags and I thought now what would I like to see if I wanted something different."
Designing a license plate for this contest was a no brainer since Sosebee started drawing before she could talk.
"I have been in art all my life. My mom is a professional artist, my grandmother was a professional artist so we've had art around the house ever since I can remember."
She isn't taking all the credit for coming up with the tags though, her son Hugh had a vision of his own.
Hugh says, "The way I helped my mom is more like the color choosing. It has to be the right colors in order to be a perfect tag."
Each design took around 25 hours to complete.
Win or lose, the Sosebee's are just excited to be semi-finalists. If number 5 or number 6 happen to be the lucky winner, they say it would be an honor.
You can cast your vote at dor.ga.gov.
Online voting ends July 8. The winning design will be announced on July 15 by Governor Nathan Deal, Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle and State Revenue Commissioner Douglas MacGinnitie.
