Red Cross Honors Hometown Heroes
Today, the American Red Cross of Central Georgia honored those who dedicate their lives to helping others. A special breakfast was held at Macon State College to recognize 12 individuals who are considered to be outstanding citizens in Middle Georgia.
The hometown heroes are:

- Warren Selby, Community Impact Hero
- Jamie Powers, Disaster Relief Hero
- Stephanie Welch, Emergency Response Hero
- Judy Samuels, Fire Rescue Hero
- Richard Hartry, Good Samaritan Hero
- Doreen Sams, Go Green Hero
- Reverend Rhett Baird, Guardian Angel Hero
- Janet Campbell, International Hero
- Detective Joseph Vamper, Military Hero
- Winn Murray, Paving the Way Youth Hero
- Mary Persons High School Class of 2011, Paving the Way Youth Heroes
