3 Arrested for Stealing from Laurens County Church

Three men are arrested for stealing the air conditioner from a Laurens County Church.

21 year old Matthew Wilcher, 20 year old John Smith, and 21 Joshua Parks,  all from Dublin, are charged with theft by taking for stealing a air conditioner from Starlite Baptist Church on old Hawkinsville Road.

The air conditioning system was heavily damaged, but found abandoned near the church.

Authorities credit someone calling 911 reporting suspicious activity for the arrest.  The caller gave enough information to prompt a look-out for a red Dodge pick-up, which lead to Parks' arrest.  Then, they set up a perimeter around the church, searched the wooded area nearby, and located Wilcher and Smith hiding.
