Sandersville, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Washington County company is reopening its doors after business went under during the recession.
Trojan Battery Company shut its doors in 2009, and reopened this past July.
Directors believe even though they took a hit, their business is coming back stronger than ever.
According to the Executive Director of the Development Authority of Washington County, Charles Lee, the battery company intends to employ more than 120 people.
"It's the best thing that's happened to us in quite some time here," Lee says, "Anytime you have a new industry, or an existing industry that has previously shut down and has come back like Trojan is doing...it's a real boost to our economy."
Director of Operations for the company, Dan Vowell says now that the business is on its feet they're working to expand sections of the plant, and install assembly lines to start full production in July 2014.
Vowell adds "we're roaring back now in 2013."
The company plans to recruit the majority of its workers in January.
