MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - NewTown Macon announced today that it's CEO, Mike Ford, will leave the organization by March 31, 2014 or sooner if the group's leaders can find a replacement.
According to a news release from the group, Ford told NewTown's Board of Directors he was resigning as a meeting last night. He said, "I am very fortunate to have spent the past eleven years working alongside the board and staff of NewTown Macon. They are truly the heart and soul of this organization and I know I am leaving NewTown in capable hands. We are already one year into our third revitalization campaign and seeing unprecedented investment in downtown Macon."
In 2002, Mike Ford started as a volunteer at NewTown Macon. He was named CEO shortly thereafter.
