MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - A Macon man is charged with nearly 600 counts of identity theft and fraud after a joint operation with Bibb deputies and the U.S. Secret Service.
26-year-old Jaydeep Patel is behind bars at the Bibb County LEC. Police say he's the central figure of an international I.D. theft operation.
They served a search warrant and recovered a slew of items from Patel's home, including debit cards, ledgers, computers, drivers licenses and cash.
Police also say he was the middle man in an international loan scam that led to him withdrawing 190 thousand dollars out of Macon ATMs.
