IVEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - The former Ivey Water Superintendent who is accused of misusing his city issued credit card for personal use is facing dozens of felony charges.
On Monday, a Wilkinson County grand jury indicted Kenneth Helms on 22 counts of theft by taking. Wilkinson County District attorney Fred Bright tells 41NBC Helms allegedly used the government card from November 2012 through June 2013. Bright says he allegedly made $1,789.68 in inappropriate charges, such as using the card to get cash advances and pay for his dentist and personal phone bill.
Bright says the case could go to a jury as early as December 2013 or the beginning of next year.
