EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A little girl is in the hospital and her mother is in jail Friday after a car accident in Dodge County.
The two and their vehicle were the subject of a child abduction alert out of Americus for hours Thursday afternoon. Georgia State Patrol trooper Michael Jackson tells 41NBC four-year-old Mikurhea Mumford was in DFCS custody in Sumter County.
Somehow her mother, 24-year-old Priscilla Hurt, got her and left the area. No word on the circumstances surrounding that incident. Hurt was taken to the Sumter County jail after the car accident.
Mikurhea was ejected from the car and flown to the Medical Center of Central Georgia with a skull fracture. She is listed in stable condition on Friday.
Another man involved in the accident also went to the hospital with several broken bones. He is in critical condition.
Hurt is facing at least kidnapping charges from Thursday's incident and could face additional charges.
