DUDLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- With Lifefest 2013 right around the corner, the Taylor family in Dudley wanted to share their personal experience with adoption. The event is a Christian music festival that supports adoption, while featuring adoptive families and seminars.
If you ask Ron and Marcy Taylor about their two daughters Hadley and Lindy, they'd say "They're both ours."
"God gave them both to us, maybe a little different ways but he gave them both to us," said Ron Taylor.
He added, "We've had a biological daughter and an adopted daughter and you love them very much the same way."
The couple was called to adopt in 2005 after hearing a commercial on the radio. They prayed about it, attended an adoption seminar, and realized it was what God wanted them to do. It was a lengthy process, but in 2010 they finally got the call.
"The Center for Adoption in China had matched us with a child and we got a description about her over the phone," said Marcy Taylor.
Little Lindy arrived at the orphanage in China on the second day of her life. The Taylor family flew around the world the week of Thanksgiving 2010 to pick up their little bundle of joy.
Lindy's sister Hadley said, "The first thing I thought was she was the only one who was crying, I'm like man we got the loud one."
Ron and Marcy included Hadley in every step of the adoption process.
"It was a big adjustment going from being 11 and an only child to now having a sister," said Marcy talking about Hadley.
For being sisters just three years, the two girls act as if they never missed a beat.
"We like to play with her dollhouse together and cook in her kitchen, I like to dress her up," added Hadley.
Lifefest Families 4 Life is Saturday, April 20 at Dudley Baptist Church located at 2nd Street in Dudley. The event starts at 10A.M. and is free. Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will be used to support Dudley Baptist Church Adoption and Orphan Care Ministry.
