KATHLEEN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - A group of Houston County elementary choral students will be given the chance to sing the national anthem at an Atlanta Braves game on April 5th.
The 54 students in the chorus attend Matt Arthur Elementary School in Kathleen, and range from third to fifth graders.
Music teacher Rick Gonzalez says the children are looking forward to singing at the game, "The students are very excited about the opportunity to sing. To prepare, they sang the national anthem at two Mercer basketball games last month. It was a great way to experience the excitement and atmosphere of singing in front of a large group of people."
The Major League baseball game won't be their only performance in the coming weeks; they'll also sing at the Large Group Performance Evaluation in Macon on March 29th.
The April 5th game will see the Braves taking on the Chicago Cubs.
