EAST DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Laurens County coroner ruled the death of a Johnson County sheriff deputy as a homicide.
Coroner Richard Stanley tells 41NBC the victim, 23-year-old Khristal Wright, was shot in the head.
Investigators arrested 21-year-old Davoris Hodges of Wrightsville and charged him with murder and armed robbery. GBI investigators say Wright and Hodges were driving to Dublin Friday evening. Investigators says evidence at the scene suggests it was an armed robbery that led to Wright's death, but the GBI wouldn't elaborate on what evidence might be.
Hodges is booked Laurens County jail.
