Fatal Five Car Wreck in Eastman is Apparent Suicide

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The 22-year-old driver who died in a five car crash in Eastman left a suicide note right before the accident.

According to Dodge County Coroner Joe Smith, on Friday afternoon, Darren Jones of Kennesaw was driving his Honda Accord on Highway 23 near the Gresston community. His car hit an 18-wheeler head on. Jones was pronounced dead on the scene.

When Georgia State Patrol officers arrived, the truck had ran off the road and hit several other vehicles at a nearby convenient store. No other serious injuries were reported in the accident.

Jones was a student at the Middle Georgia State Aviation College in Eastman. Murray Brothers Funeral Home in Fulton County is handling the arrangements.
