WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- Warner Robins Police Chief Brett Evans says he has full confidence that a GBI investigation into a Sunday evening will prove his officers acted in accordance with the law.
The shootout happened between officers and a man on Huntwood Lane. The man died during that incident.
In the statement Evan says, "Being forced to take someone's life impacts an officer on a deeply personal level. Deadly force is always a last resort and is only used when a person or an officer's life is in immediate danger. I have full confidence the GBI will conduct a thorough investigation of this incident. I stand in firm support of our officers."
Evans also added his prayers are with all families involved, and the investigation is still active.
