Macon City Council and the Bibb County Board of Commissioners came to a verbal agreement on the service deliver strategy.
The verbal agreement came after the Macon City Council threatened the Bibb County of Commissioners to go to court if an agreement could not be reached.
The Service Delivery Strategy is a way for two governments in the same region, like Macon and Bibb County, to help eliminate double taxation.
Currently, residents of the city of Macon have to pay taxes to the city, but also have to pay taxes to Bibb County.
But residents who live in the unincorporated parts of Bibb County, do not have to pay taxes to the city of Macon. However, they receive the same benefits and services as those who have to pay double taxes.
