MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After three days, several venues and over 80 screenings, the Macon Film Festival 2013 is now over.
This year's festival featured special guests Crystal Chappell, an actress from 'The Bold and the Beautiful'; Steve Rash, director of 'The Buddy Holly Story', and actress and independent film star Mink Stole. Reality star Honey Boo Boo also made an appearance.
For the 8th annual event, the Macon Film Commission expanded the categories this year, to include one that allows the audience to pick a winner.
"In every one of the screenings that have been submitted for competition, we're giving them a form and they fill the form out, so tonight we announce the audience choice awards," said Terrell Sandefur, Macon Film Commission.
The festival wrapped up with a showing of the Oscar-nominated film 'Beast of the Southern Wild'.
