AP: Feds Talking to Macon Police Chief About Sammie Davis, Jr. Shooting Death

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Federal authorities are talking to Macon police chief Mike Burns about the shooting death of Sammie Davis, Jr.

The Associated Press is reporting he called reps from the Department of Justice as a precaution just before the GBI releases the findings of the investigation. Davis was shot outside the Kroger on Pio Nono avenue last december, by Macon police officer Clayton Sutton.

Davis was unarmed when he was shot. The GBI's investigation should be wrapping up any day now.
